Undertaker Honey Bee with Larvae

Undertaker Honey Bee

Did you know there are undertaker bees in a hive? These bees take out other dead bees and other things that don’t belong in the hive. At the Jam’N Jamz festival I was at a couple of weeks ago, we got this video of an undertaker bee trying to get rid of what we think is a hive beetle larvae in Mr. H’s observation hive. This bee ran around for at least an hour with this larvae because it couldn’t find the entrance. Since the bees were in an observation hive for people to see, the entrance was closed so they couldn’t get out. You can see the undertaker bee is the one with the worm in this video.
